People in the US don't normally discourage eating fresh salad greens because of the worry that pregnant women probably already don't eat healthy enough, but I know which I'd be more worried about....(and unpasteurized cheese is an issue. Not all cheese that I've ever heard.) My point is not that i eat tons of deli meat and no salad while pregnant, just that it's worth understanding the reason for the recommendation and considering your own risk calculus instead of blanket avoiding entire food groups. The recommendation on coffee has changed since my first pregnancy, for example, and that's evidence based.[/quote]
