Wrong! There are players on Green who practice and guest for ECNL team.
Picking up on this, is it customary for girls not on the ECNL roster (at ASA. Mclean, and any other clubs) to have opportunities to guest for the ECNL team at showcases, so that all interested girls have a chance to be scouted?
At Arlington there are fairly frequently players from Red who practice and play in some matches with the DA team designated as PT (part time) players. I think the jump from Red to DA at Arlington may be lesser than the jump from Red to DA at Arlington since McLean Green is CCL2 and Arlington Red is CCL1.
Don’t fall for this, Arlington doesn’t move players from Red to DA. Do not accept a Red spot thinking you will move to DA.
I know a Red player moving up to DA for next year. Offer made and accepted.
My question isn’t about moving up, it’s about whether the top team(s) allow guesting for college showcases. My ignorance may be showing, but do clubs do this, or is it understood that if a girl isn’t on the top (ECNL or DA) team, she isn’t going to get recruited anyway?
I would assume that Arlington will do something similar to what Metro United(Currently Washington Spirit) is doing. Some offers will be made for Full Time DA players, some for Part Time players, some for training only. Part Time players are bubble players, not quite where they need to be for DA, however are eligible for up to 12 Day games total(across Spring and Fall.) They will train with DA as many times as they want a week, and can transition to full-time players. I would assume Arlington would do something similar but instead of partner clubs, with their own in house teams.
DA* not Day games
