It stinks for those who are uncomfortable with coming across as pushy, and thus don't want to pester the administration for things like this. If you have Larla, whose parents are chill and will likely accept any decision you make, and then you also have Carla, whose mom will become a giant pain-in-the-ass and continually harass the administration if her child is placed in gen ed, the principal is more likely to principal place Carla to spare himself or herself the headache.[/quote] I agree this happens at a LL4 school, but at least at a Center, the principal can say I’m sorry, a central commitee makes that decision.[/quote] This does not happen at a center school, even when aap classes are 19 or 20 (kids) and base classes are 30.
