[/quote] Because it's a lot cheaper for the company/organization that runs the parking meters. With coins, they have to pay someone to come and empty the meters and they get the occasional meter that gets broken into the money is stolen. These meters don't require anyone to come and empty the meters and there's no loss from thieves breaking into the meters.[/quote]
