This means that at-least a quarter of my classmates would have been younger than me, as there were more than 3 months between my birthday and the cut-off. [/quote] But that doesn't really answer the question of why. Did your parents struggle through school? And did their lack of belief in you manifest in other ways too? (e.g. not letting you venture out independently, wanting to "help" with things like your college applications, etc?)[/quote]
