People above are nuts. I pay $19/hour for two kids in bethesda. Range among my friends is $18-$22.
Yes. $18-24 at the top end for straight nanny. Nannies with special skills— college degrees, education training etc— make more. Re: cheap wages above: what special skills do the $30 nannies have?
They are smart enough to bypass families who think paying $19/hr for 2 kids is a good wage and instead earn $30/hr.
I don't get this. I live in foxhall, not in the most expensive homes there but 1 million+ and I don't know a single person that pays their nanny $30/hr unless they have an army of kids. I pay my nanny $22/hr, 15 days PTO, and insurance stipend for my 1 year old and 4 year old (in school fulltime). She speaks fluent English and has roughly 10 years experience. Other people I know in the area pay around the same too anywhere from $18-$25/hr with your standard benefits.
What don’t you get? That there are ppl who pay more than $19/hr? That the families you know don’t represent every family?
Haha. What I'm saying is the majority of people don't pay their nannies $30.00/hr. The families that do generally have 3+ kids and require a lot of overtime which bumps up the nanny's salary. I'm sure you've been a nanny for every affluent family out there so you would know how much they pay.
You know every affluent family in the area? Or do you know your friends and what they pay their nannies? You actually have no idea what the majority of ppl pay their nanny. You know what the majority of ppl in you circle pay. I know that I wouldn’t work for families whose address isn’t in DC. Since, my experience has shown they pay far less and expect a lot more for the lower pay.
Um do you know where Foxhall Village is? It's a DC address. What I'm saying is within my group (as mentioned in a previous post) most people don't pay that much unless they have an army of kids which requires a lot of overtime. Reading comprehension is not your strength. How are you getting paid so much?
