He's my oldest so it didn't occur to me that it was unusual. Maybe his writing was much more impaired than what you all are talking about. FWIW, though, he was accepted into the advanced academic program. But to answer a different PP, it actually didn't help him much at all, sad to say. He was later diagnosed with severe dysgraphia, so that obviously came into play and made everything much harder. Still, I do think that a child with JUST ADHD would have benefited and learned. From what I have seen, at least at my school, public schools have a very hard time teaching kids with severe language based learning disabilities. The son of a good friend of mine (very bright/severely dyslexic) also left public school.[/quote]
