The Bethesda 03 ECNL roster is 18 and the B team is 17. Some of the B team players are listed on the ECNL website as rostered there as they sometimes play there as needed. Bethesda does not roster more than 18.
OK. You are right, I am counting heads on public gotsoccer.com rosters. Well if there are 18 "really" on the roster and sometimes a B team player plays up then doesn't that mean an A team player does not play? Fair correction, but my point remains: in Bethesda and Rush rosters are crowded and games are rationed and playups are limited. Now as for the Rush top teams in 03 and 04 I know for a fact what I said is true. Heard it right from several parents. Go ahead...keep doling out the cash....moo while you're at it.
In the older groups there are tons of injuries. It is a much more physical game once they hit high school. My DD's team had a time were 4 girls could not play for significant periods (ankle/knee/back/hip). Not having enough subs can lead to additional injuries especially once it gets hot out, I have seen it plenty of times. 15-16 per game is a nice roster number as all players can get time. I would not go into a tournament in the high school age groups with less than 16. The EDP National League has switched to a no re-entry rule this spring, these teams may need the bigger rosters.
Totally agree with all of that. Also did not know about no reentry limit for NL teams this Spring. Whoa. We are short-handed. We are relying too much on playups. Please bring your daughter out to a Bordeaux practice and join the team to help us out. She'll get a lot of play time.
