PP here. Is that a change? (We did this a few years ago). If so, what a bummer. Do they say this somewhere overtly? If not, I say why not! (But make sure it's good).

My kids both went to TPMS magnet. I found the coordinator to be very considerate. I sent in some info regarding my kid (before decisions were made).  I didn't receive any response, but I think they heard me. I mailed it.[/quote]

Yeah, in the FAQ, it says no recommendation letter from teachers.

PP here. Sorry to hear it. I think that sticks, especially when they don't get recommendations in the main process. It seems like it's so much more focused on the test now, even though the report said that the testing was biased towards the socio-economic groups that valued and could afford test prep. I think teacher recs are valuable to balance and offer more info. Oh well. Maybe there is something else on the list you can send.  It's not over until Fall![/quote]
