Even in the segregated parts of the county that are always whining about this, different kids have different abilities.[/quote] Of course, but at the population (school) level, there is not a heck of a lot of economic swing between the schools. Because test scores are so closely tied to household income, and maternal education levels, you are not likely to huge differences in student outcomes or presence (or lack thereof) of academic peer groups within the schools considered for any given regional CES.
