Thanks.  You know (and again, I get that you being anonymous gives you liberty to write things you would not say to my face), I asked for help.  I asked if anyone knew of a vendor who would come do an attractive cupcake display.

The caterer is operating in his own world.  Something just happened TODAY to the organization of this event that has created this situation.  I did not know it would be like this.  There are clearly pieces of this that you don't know about, but none of that has anything to do with the original question I asked.

I keep checking back here to see if anyone would say something like-- "Ah, yes call Jane Smith at xxx-xxxx she did this exact thing for us when we ran into this problem.  But I am honestly stunned that this site/forum has denigrated (apparently over the years) into a place where folks are just ridiculed and attacked.  Instead of help, you guys have been like, "why would you expect them to..." "Oh aren't you dumb for thinking..."  I fail to see how any of that is helpful.
