Dumb, dumb yourself for misspelling malaria and for not realizing it is contagious. A mosquito bites OP and the mosquito can gets protozoan organism in its blood. It matures and when mosquito bites her husband- bam! Protozoa from mosquito's saliva get deposited in OP hisband's blood and now he has malaria. So no mask but watch out for those mosquitos in Miami.[/quote]

It's actually a different species of mosquito. Our mosquitoes can't transmit Malaria or Dengue. Lots and lots (and lots) of people come back from travel around the world with these diseases, and we have zero domestic transmission. So OP should go and get treated, but her family and community shouldn't worry.[/quote]
