My DD is at Wootton and she has been to 1-2 football games in the past 3 years(she's a junior), and when she went there were maybe 10 kids total. Kinda sad IMO, but at least it has good ratings!
Wootton parent here. No kids are not into football anymore. There was a fatal drunk driving incident with a football player and parents that provided the alcohol a few years ago. The parents providing alcohol were very brazen about it too. The amazing, wonderful principal Dr Doran who created so much school spirit, was loved by all the kids, and made Wootton an amazing place died suddenly of heart attack a few weeks later. It really effected the community. Parents are hyper aware of what their kids are doing now and much stricter about letting them go out if they don't know the parents/where they will be. Many parents wont let their kids go to football games. Its good that the parents who provide alcohol are shunned by the community but its created a level of distrust that is unfortunate. Without Dr Doran the school has had a hard time rebuilding school spirit.
