The first donor was not proven, but the 2nd was. We had 7 frozen eggs from first, but only 5 thawed, 4 fertilized and then no blasts. 2nd had 5 frozen eggs, 4 thawed and fertilized, but only one blast. As for me, I have no diagnoses. Everything looks good on paper. I would always get 10-12 eggs and 8-10 fertilize, but one cycle didn’t have a blast good enough to do testing and no transfer. The other 2 times I got 1 blast each so I said just xfer no testing but nothing implanted. I though donor would be a sure thing, but maybe we need to look into adoption.
First, I am so sorry you have gone through so much and I hope it works out for you. I am just beginning the DE process so I havent experienced it but I was told by my clinic (in PA) that fresh donor eggs have much better odds fo success than frozen. Have you talked to your doctor about the differences? Similarly, clinics are also finding that women who freeze their eggs with hopes to use them later in life are having trouble bc the eggs thaw well or once fertilized dont make it to blast. I am really struggling with what to do. My clinic has 3 plans: one where you get all the egss from the retrieval (but its very expensive ), one plan where you split the proceeds of a retrieval with another anonymous family but you have to wait (could be months) for someone who wants to use the same donor as you, and lastly a plan where you can buy frozen eggs from their bank -- but I have been warned the odd of success is much lower.
Interesting. I just posted about my story and never having frozen work for me. I thought I was just a weird anomaly but maybe it is a thing?
