2-4 lbs a month is a healthier rate of loss
1-2 pounds per week is the norm, so 4-8 pounds per month If you have a lot to lose 10 pounds per month at the start is not difficult.
I definitely wouldn't say 1-2 pounds is the norm, especially if you're losing a smaller amount of weight. I average 0.5-1lb/week, and that's following Weight Watchers quite closely.
To lose 2 lbs a week of real weight, you need a daily calorie deficit of over a 1000 calories. That is so unsustainable but iit s the mindset that leaves some people on this board to believe that if they eat more than a thousand calories a day they will never lose weight. but they really mean is that they feel they are not losing it quickly enough. Weight that comes off as yours does pp is the weight that tends to stay off
