I'm also sort of a stickler for not liking houses where the exterior style doesn't go with the interior style. We have a clean looking federal/transitional style house so all the whites, grays and creams look nice but just aren't what I really like. Its boring. It could go the federal traditional route I guess but it would look silly with Mexican or Italian tile, 50s bathroom or big floral wall paper.
