5 minutes? That's super fast for the majority of SUV drivers.

There is no need to back into suburban parking lots and parking garages; there are even signs in some of the garages warning drivers to not back in, I've seen drivers back-in right in front of these signs.

There’s a bunch of ex-military and NatSec dorks in our region. Police and military are taught to park in backwards so a fleet of vehicles can deploy quickly in an emergency.

Yes, we have our fair share of those types. But we also have more than our fair share of people who will speed around you while you’re trying to back out rather than stopping and letting you finish, so it’s still safer to back in sometimes. I personally don’t go to Costco on Saturdays for this very reason but some people are braver than I am.[/quote]
