She has a lot more to go if she wants scholarships.[/quote] The Florida Medallion Scholarship is guaranteed for Florida high school students going to Florida state schools with a 1170 SAT and a 3.0 GPA. It's about 20K, and can make a huge difference in a young person's ability to attend college. So, yes that 300 point jump has a potential to make a big difference.[/quote] It would be (roughly) 20K over the course of 4 years or 75% of Florida in-state tuition. They need at least 75 documented service hours on file, too. If she got an institutional scholarship on top of that she would be doing pretty good. [/quote]
