He said the main issues people asked about are Concern for immigrants Transportation / Rapid transit Affordable housing No mention of the decline of Montgomery county or its economic future
Those topics are what all the "random people" who were "selected" to ask questions asked. Funny how Elrich seemed to only call on "random people" that only had either praise for him or wanted to discuss things he agreed with and was prepared to speak about, huh? What an amazing coincidence, right? I mean, it's almost like he had an audience seeded with planted ringers. But I'm sure he'd never do that. Nah...
Or, just as likely, when a regular citizen asked about why the county is lagging behind economically, he just decided to not include that in his list of the topics that "most people" asked about It was also interesting that one homeless woman directly made the point that it seems like the county government cares more about helping brand new immigrants than it does about helping the people whose families have been in this country for many generations
Was she quickly ushered from the room and taken out back and beaten for asking such an insulting racist question?
She's had plenty of time to figure things out. New arrivals should be given their opportunity.
Like the opportunity to get special government and educational services without paying taxes
And yet the typical special Ed kid is met with sham attorneys when requesting appropriate services for their kid. A friend was trying to receive appropriate services for his kid (the child’s education in MoCo was a complete horror show, including trips in police cars for what should have been managed with a behavior plan), and lost on a procedural error to the county’s more experienced attorney (who does this every day). Dad now has to pay for his son’s private school, his attorney and for the county’s attorney. No matter!! We’re all rich and can afford that, right? We work to find our kids’ private school and several attorneys while we roll out the red carpet for people from other countries . Why are the current residents so under valued ? At least virginia and DC are a short drive away for those that are tired of being screwed over.
