OP here again. All of you are mentioning the threat of gun violence. My husband's big concern isn't gun violence but rather a bomb situation such as Timothy McVeigh. From that standpoint Adas seems vulnerable. He acknowledges that if the crazy anti-Semite wanted to do real damage he would do it on a Saturday morning but he is still very hesitant because he thinks that synagogues are much more vulnerable than some random preschool in the area. What do you think about that idea?
As Gan and religious school parent who is also frequently at services at Adas, this literally never crosses my mind as a thing to be worried about. Obviously, if it happened, it would be a catastrophe, but it's incredibly unlikely. You can't build your life around the possibility of someone blowing up the building you or your kids are in. Sure, Adas is a likelier target for a bombing than, say, some random Montessori school. But as many people have pointed out, our kids are still far likelier to be hit by a car than they are to be the target of a terrorist attack in school. (I will still pause here to say keinehora, just in case.)
