So here's my story... Single mom of a 5 and 7 year old. I was supposed to have them on Mon and Tues night and my ex was supposed to get them Wed and Thurs, and I was supposed to get them back for the weekend Fri Sat and sun. Well the ex calls me at work on Tues saying he's taking them to South Carolina for his days and he wanted to get a head start on traffic and so he would be picking them up from school Tues and returning with them on Saturday night. I called the school and asked to speak with my 7 yo to give him a heads up since the kids were planning on seeing Tuesday night. I was able to keep It together on the phone but completely broke down at work on Tues after the call. Wed I went to work. Today I tried to clean the bathroom but only ended up cleaning the sink mirro and wiping down the cabinets. Then I ate the rest of last night Chinese food takeout. Read a little. Fell Asleep at 2 pm and just woke up. I was in a car accident dne two weeks ago. Rear ended while stopped on red by a teenager going full speed and my car was totaled. So on top of missing my kids I'm laying here in pain. I am not totally down however and am completely thankful for my life, a nice warm bed to lay in and food to eat. Oh and for my friend who is letting me borrow a car until I get the settlement check to buy a new one. So many people have been displaced recently by forces of nature. There are those who had to evacuate due to the volcanos in Hawaii, the hurricanes and flooding in Florida and the Carolinas, and along the eastern seaboard, the wildfires in California. So many people are suffering right now and I'm sure I missed some weather related events. I'm m so glad this lonely day is almost over but also very thankful to be alive and in relatively good health. To the pp above I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and will keep your family in my prayers.
