DH is fromsouth America and we don’t do this with his side of the family. His parents are older and would not be able (nor do they want to) care for our kids. We have a different relationship. My parents are amazing and we are so blessed to have them. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. My grandparents took all their grandkids to France for 3 weeks every summer to learn French. It was never an issue in my family. Perhaps American parents are different. I still believe that you should do what’s best for the kids and not for you or DH.[/quote]
