Whenever I read or hear of cases of male sexual assault as a form of hazing on sports teams I always think that the perpetrators should be named and shamed. That they should be required to formally stand up in front of the entire student body, admit they have a real and serious problem, that they committed disgusting acts, and that they are in a fact a sexual predator bc normal people do not enjoy or engage in these kind of acts.  They should then be required to sit 20 ft from any others in class and not allowed to any student gatherings. They should be required to show attendance and progress in regular therapy. And no this is not mean. This is what needs to happen bc without developing shame and blame they won’t stop. It’s the fear of shame and blame that will fill in for the empathy they don’t have. They will not develop empathy at that age/stage- developmentally the window has passed. One such event like this would quickly help squash any other student’s attempt at trying the same thing.[/quote]
