[/quote]Based on what? My guess is that your impression is way out of date and ill informed. Have you driven a Niro? Read anything about them? Toyota and Honda also used to have a terrible reputation for quality. So did American cars for a while. Stay up to date. Niros get docked in most ratings for having less power, but they are being compared to cars with much worse mpgs. Of course fuel economy has a cost. The environment is worth it. Niros get about 50 mpg, have a 500 mile range, and are really well designed. The only comparable car on the market is a Prius, and they are sinfully ugly and less comfortable. OP wants an SUV for road trips. The Niro is plenty big enough for 2 people and looks like an SUV. It has the best mileage in that category. OP, go take a test drive. See what you think. Don't rely on old information.[/quote]
