It's a mixed bag.[b] I always got the feeling that most people who come here don't have children in most popular schools. [/b]They are here for advice about the less known schools. The popular schools come up when somebody says something specific about a school plus quite possible NW parents are well represented on DCUM.
Our kids go to NWDC middle and elementary school. While the schools are good, I really like it that we live so close to both of them.

I have a strong suspicion that at least half the people giving advice here don't have kids in any DCPS schools - either yet, or ever.  So they're just parroting the perceived wisdom they've read on the board before, which is how "HRCS" went from being a joke term to something people will get incredibly heated about defending. I don't know. I've found some helpful information on here, and information that turned out to be consistent with my own impressions when I did my own research/tours/etc. After spending a little time on this board, you can pretty easily distinguish the unhelpful comments with no substance from trolls or people with an ax to grind from comments that are thoughtful and helpful.[/quote]
