There is some quasi experimental design research that suggest it helps test scores. But the comparator group is never described, so we don't know if kids are better off doing something else. I have always been shocked that DCPS puts so much money and time into this program, which would be good for some kids, but overall is not a magic bullet. And teachers are forced to have all kids keeps up with that program even if their professional opinion is that it is not suitable for everyone. [/quote]
