Yes definitely get your thyroid checked immediately if you’re pregnant! With my first pregnancy (an unplanned pregnancy in my 20s), I called my midwife/OB immediately and they were like “oh hmm, can you come in next month or whenever?” Then, since I have auto immune hypothyroid, I called my endocrinologist - they wanted me to come in that same day.
+2. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid with my first pregnancy. So glad my OB checked. I lost that pregnancy at 9w and the next one at 6.5w. I get my blood drawn for tsh now asap -- mine shot up from 1 to 6 by 4w2d, and I'd already taken an extra dose of synthroid upon getting my bfp at 3w4d. My endocrinologist wants 1x/ month checks, but my RE is happy to do it more often, which I appreciate, even though there's a bit of a lag between increasing dosage and seeing results. My RE thinks there may be a relationship between my hashimoto's and my DOR, as hashimoto's is autoimmune which *may* have attacked my ovaries. He's seen anecdotal relationships between hashimoto's and dor.
