Sorry folks, it is not always about the other person being a slob. I live with a compulsive chucker. I am not a slob, I don't do clutter,, I'm not a pack rat or a hoarder. Nonetheless, occasionally my husband feels the need to throw s*** away that doesn't need to be thrown away or shouldn't be thrown away. I've learned to live with it, and I realize it's nothing personal or disrespectful for my husband. He's just compulsive
This. My DH once found an antique map I picked up at an estate sale as a present for my brother. Under the carpet. Where I was flattening it out. He threw it out without a word to me. I have gone through my paperwork and put it into several piles for separate disposition. He reshuffles it all into one big pile. So I have to sort out again. I have to put "Don't touch" signs on more important things he's liable to throw out or re-arrange. He has gone through the children's bookcases and randomly taken and thrown away books. I have to re-buy them when the children are upset their favorite books have gone missing. He also denies doing these things.
