Why the heck does DCPS conduct testing in May if the results won't be available to help with student placement for the upcoming school year? Testing is solely about judging teachers. it's not helpful to the kids if the results are so delayed that they don't influence or inform placement for the next semester or next year. I know all about PARCC and the need to read and grade written responses, blah, blah, blah. There is something fundamentally wrong when students spent days and weeks with testing prep for tests that don't help them along their path. I guess you could argue that if an entire class is found not to be learning then that teacher might get booted and thus that could help future students by ridding the system of a failing teacher. But again, how does the individual student benefit from all that standardized testing?[/quote]
