Did therapist suggest that you continue engaging/visiting/otherwise ignoring bad behavior? I have a hard time believing a therapist would say "oh well - that's his mom". While it's true DH can't control what they say/do, he most certainly has control over how he chooses to engage with anyone who insults and demeans his spouse.[/quote]
