There was little movement last year too. And the year before. Same basic story every year since the common lottery happened -- with exceptions being when schools expand or open new classes. That's really all that causes much shuffling.

There's some movement through September, but it isn't much. If you aren't under 10 by now at a desirable school, get comfortable with your current match. No need to remove yourself from the wait lists, just in case, but lower your expectations.

The Common Lottery is designed to match people who get lucky with the best master numbers at the school where they most want to be (put another way, to reduce waitlist movement).
