Sure, you can use them for other stuff, but when the idea is to reduce what you spent at the store today, it's not helpful.[/quote] This is only true if you don’t have a processor (or blender) or don’t have olive oil. Otherwise even the ingredients are cheaper. Hummus at the store is stupid expensive. Which is why it’s one of those things that makes me feel good/like I’m not deprived even when I’m broke. The other thing is gravlax, which can also be made insanely cheaply as long as you have time, a fridge, and a very sharp knife. [/quote]
