Are these per-adolescents beefing about pride/ego - the right to hang out at certain spots etc. or are these older folks beefing about something else? From what I understand at the end of the day the primary motive for gangs to fight over territories is money so they can dominate crime and I guarantee you if there's $$$ involved from criminal activity (drugs, robbery, selling stolen merchandise, extortion, gambling, etc.) then its not just immigrants involved in the mix. 9.99x out of 10 immigrants are just pawns in the money-making process for American citizens who belong to a group that is, shall we say, "lesser-stigmatized/profiled" by race/class/citizenship-status.[/quote]
