I think some of his supporters know full well that he lies about everything, and they like it.  They see that as being somehow anti-establishment.  They are essentially trailer dwellers and resent anyone who is employed, so to them it matters not that auto manufacturers are moving out of the US, that actual employment is down, that household debt is up, etc - they view themselves as disenfranchised whites and they seek to destroy everyone and everything.  They see Trump as destructive, and that's what they want.

He is the throbbing id of the conservative movement. They love nothing more than seeing him telling the "elites" to f off. However, this is not a governance strategy and he's systematically bringing the country to its knees. I am appalled at the Republicans who do know better but aren't doing anything to stop it. Everything Trump touches dies and there will be a reckoning for these acts of cowardice. [/quote]
