I will say that when my husband and I shared a bathroom, I thought I might have to divorce him. He is so disgusting in there, and leaves such disgusting messes. I honestly was just furious about it. And no amount of nagging seemed to help. The nagging was awful for both of us and unproductive.

Having separate bathrooms has been a real asset to our marriage. If there is any way you can swing that, I would try to. Then just get cleaners in as often as you can - and make sure he's cleaned up before guests come. (In our current house, my husband has the hall bathroom, which is what guests would use - luckily we don't have guests that often, or else I think it'd be more of an issue now.)

Otherwise - I really don't know what to suggest, other than, can you get your kids to help? Would he be shamed enough by children cleaning up his toilet mess, that he'd start being better about it?
