I have never understood Black parents running to place their child in an all White setting. Furthermore there were 100 yes 100 Black boarding schools across the US now there are only 3. Wealthy Blacks are more worried about White acceptance instead of true equality. For all of the wealthy Blacks in places like D.C. Where are the elite Black American private schools and programs? As for PG county I feel great TAG programs like Glenarden Woods & Heather Hills are a source of great pride as well as HS programs like the Health & Science one at PG community college as well as the S&T programs at Rose, Flowers & Oxon Hill. Our school system is in the top 25 population wise and is close to 70 percent Black with a 81+ percent graduation rate. D.C. Would kill to have numbers with the same demographics.
I would pull my black kid out of a school to get away from you, lady. But you do you.
Huh? Let me guess to enroll them in an all White school? Lol. Sorry if I don't subscribe to the racist notion that my child can only learn if beside a White child. Sorry if I don't view my race as inferior like you do.
I agree that there is much to be proud of if your child is a high achieving black student in a PG school, but your idea that the nW privates are all white is not true. In fact the reason we choose our DC private is so my son could have a community of black achievers. We are in MCPs and there are very few black males on their gifted/magnet programs I imagine this might not be true in PG. we are happy with our choice
My child is at a top 3 NW private and outside of the athletes there isn't many non-diplomatic kids of color.
