Cavs 2023 lost to Western Loudoun 14U by double digits.  And Wl plays in the 2nd tier 14UA league in the NVYLL.  It's a good rec team, but not a powerhouse.  The parents on that team were embarrassed.

For Loudoun families who want better lacrosse, VLC is the best option by far.  Reasonable driving distance to practices, superior track record for college recruiting.  Cavs is content playing in B tournaments and racking up money.[/quote]

You have no idea what you are talking about. Just go look at the HoCo league standings:

Cavs 2024 is in the A division. They finished out HoCo league 6-1.  They will be forced to move up to AA.  VLC and Madlax DMV are in the B division VLC closed out 5-2 and Madlax had a bad season at 3-4. They definitely will staying down in B where they belong.

lets get to Cavs 2023

Hoco league, they went to the championship and lost to the Cannons. Both championship teams closed out the season with a 6-1 record. VLC is the same division, but lost their one game to the Cavaliers.  The madlax cxapitals team went 4-2 and are without note.

given your utter lack of knowledge, I highly doubt your info about western loudoun rec team, since you think VLC is "the best", their 2022 team had a near perfect season in the hoco league. [u]They lost every single game[/u], except one, where they tied for the toilet bowl. If Lodoun has such an amazing team that can spank a team that went to the HoCo championship game, then they have one of the most remarkable rec programs in the entire tri state area. Makes no sense that a team that crushed the Maxlax caps team gets spanked by a rec team out on the frontier.

VLC would be a HUGE DOWNGRADE from Cavs, at least for boys.

Black Wolf churns out D1 athletes, Such as Dillon Maltz, but if you are concerned with screamers and abusive coaching, stay away from black Wolf (assuming your kid could even make the team)

You are a complete idiot.  We are an Arlington family and our kids play for NL.  Everyone knows that in VA, VLC, Madlax and BW are by far the best options.  Cavs is known for playing in lesser events to win trophies.  Their best players eventually leave primarily for Madlax and VLC because they want to play for better teams in better tournaments.

Here are some other stupid things you wrote:

2024 - a VLC 24 parent told me they lost to Cavs by 1 goal in their very first game as a team.  They asked for a much higher division than B and didn't get it.  VLC would likely beat Cavs now

2023 - I don't know many 23 parents, but i can read the Hoco website.  Both VLC and Cavs played in the 2nd highest bracket, and VLC WON IT.  Cavs didn't even make the final.

2022 - I'm told VLC 22 isn't very good.  But at least they are playing AA whereas Cavs are in A.

No objective person thinks Cavs is a better program than either VLC, Madlax or BW.  Come on.

Agree with the poster above. If you son wants more exposure or aspires to play at the D1 level, VLC/Blackwolf/Madlax is a better option overall.

Just look at the Cav's 2020 schedule for this year's summer tournaments: Summer Celebration, Kings Challenge and Battle of Bull Run. 
Compare to VLC's 2020 schedule: Big 4 Champions League, Crabfeast and Leading Edge Elite.

If you're new to the travel lacrosse tournament circuit, there are levels. I'd say Cavs play in the B level circuit, which limits exposure but opens up opportunities to win the tourney. A level usually showcases the top teams in the country (FCA, 91 Crush, Express, etc.) hence more college coaches sitting on the sidelines with clipboard in hand.

When comparing clubs people are often talking about different things.  Some people are like -- a particular Cavs team is better than a particular Madlax or VLC team.  Ergo, Cavs are on par with Madlax or VLC.  But in terms of recruitment (if you care about that), it's still probably better to be on a theoretical Madlax Capital team that loses to Cavs because of the better exposure the Madlax kid will get.
