I agree with you, but I hate the assumption that Advanced Math is available at all schools, that it's the same as AAP center math, and that the same math opportunities are available in gen ed vs. the center.  Often, that is not the case, and the math gifted kids still need to be in the AAP center to fully have their needs met.  [/quote]

This is true. I am not OP but our base school, which does not have a LLIV only option to go to center, does not appear to offer any advanced math until 5th grade. My kid is really bored of addiction, subtraction, time, fractions, and money which is all they’ve done from K-2nd. When that is the case, which it’s not clear if it is for OP, and you have an advanced math kid, also not clear if OP does, it seems the committee should have to take that into account for LIV decisions.[/quote]

Sounds like our base school.  This is why I ended up putting her in private school in first grade.  She was literally, bored to tears.  Her current school does a decent job of keeping her challenged, but I still have to supplement her math.  At some point, I hope that I can stop that.[/quote]
