OP here. My understanding from DH is that it’s like 2 minutes pooping and 18-28 minutes sitting in peace and quiet. I sympathize with the need for peace and quiet and don’t relate to the bathroom venue for it, but DH assured me that it wasn’t a medical issue, which was how I framed it initially. [/quote]

Just FYI, my DH and I had a big fight about this issue after our second child was born. I don’t think he fully understood the level of rage that I was experiencing that he would just randomly disappear and take a break. I told him that he either had to stop this and admit that he was skipping out on the family or go to the doctor. It isn’t like he couldn’t take a break, but it really disrupt things when he would just decide to randomly go poop.

We finally agreed no more than 10-15 minutes, and I don’t hesitate to text him if he is dawdling.

Omg this is us, except I haven’t been able to get him to agree to go quicker.  It’s a joke even in his own family how long he takes.  Occasionally I get raging mad (when I’m dealing with toddler all alone and he decides to randomly disappear for half an hour), then he’ll take shorter breaks for a day or two before going back to normal.[/quote]
