Your desperation comes through in the email you sent him.  You know he's a known liar.  If there is something elicit and shady going on, this is hardly something he'd be honest with you about.  Yet you ask him so many questions and show him all your cards, giving him all the information he needs to say exactly what he needs to say to get the desired effect from you.

I’m taking your counsel.  I hear you. I’m a pretty straightforward, very honest person so it’s hard for me to think in terms of “ showing my hand”  in a strategic sense. Out of curiosity, how would you have handled tonight? Honest question.  Thanks. [/quote]
