With all the own egg/embryo freezing becoming a normal practice for those of us who delay getting pregnant I truly hope this question will begin to disappear. Right now it is more celebrity types who are having late in life babies but with the heavy push for late 20's/30's women of all walks of life to store eggs later in life babies will become more and more the norm. My sister had twins just before she turned 50 9+ years ago. At nearly 60 - she is healthy, active, in an amazing job and I don't see her parenting as any different than her much younger kids. Who cares in what form the cells came together for that baby-lucky her!
She had twins just before turning 50? Poor kids.
I just turned 50. I can't even imagine having twins right now, and I'm in very good shape. Most women in that phase of life are 15+ yrs younger, so just relating to othe moms is hard. I know having kids really late is relatively common, but I have twice seen mothers mistaken for grandmothers. I'm sure the lack of sleep contributed to it, and some people just look older than they are, but it was awkward and embarrasing for everyone.
oh... so better remain childless/have fewer kids then!
