We will be in NYC this summer for a family function, and I'm looking for tips on *where* we might go for a few nights afterwards. Willing to drive as much as 3 hours or so. We aren't interested in NJ beaches since we've seen those before. We're hoping to see something new and have a little fun with our school aged kids. We aren't interested in doing a full week. Hoping to find a cute beach town or lake area. Thoughts?
Westport, ct is like bethesda but it has a beautiful beach.
I grew up in Westport, and live in Bethesda now. How are Bethesfa/Westport similar? I don't see the comparison at all. Especially because Westport had a small town feel, and Bethesda feels much bigger, more like a city..,,
True, Westport is smaller, but I think Bethesda is the closest comparison in the area to give OP a sense. Lots of kid friendly stuff and museums in town and close by, nice Main Street with diverse and really good restaurant options and nice boutiques. It’s not the only town in Fairfield county that fits this description, but first to come to mind since I know the town really well.
