I graduated from a LCPS in 2000 in the top of my class with an honors diploma (do they still do those there?) and I went to an Ivy from 2000-2004. I graduated with a 4.0. I do not think they were weighted back then. No clue about that. There was a 3-way tie for #1 and a gladly bowed out to the other two and just took wearing the special sash and cords because I loathed public speaking I was in all honors classes except for the normal PE/Health classes. My electives were (2 each year) Art, Psychology, Accounting, Computer Science (I struggled so hard in this to keep an A in this & was so glad when it was over), Public Speaking (to try to get over my fear, but it was a joke of a class), and Etymology. SAT was 1510 (PSAT was actually higher at 1570 but my counselors advised me against taking SAT again after getting 1510). Never took the SATII. Never took the ACT. Took AP Calc AB/BC (3, 4), AP Bio (5), AP Chem (4), AP World History (4), AP Lit (5), AP US History (5), AP Physics (4 I think), AP French (4 I think). I was part of the Science club, French club, Key club, and NHS. I never held any positions in any clubs. Was never part of any Student Gov. I didn't play any sports, not even outside of school past the elementary years. I didn't have any internships/job experience. I did go on a French excursion trip to Paris with my AP class summer before my senior year. I did not have any secondary language teachings outside of school. My volunteer hours came from the local animal shelter and from local marathons/races. I played no instruments past the middle school years when either band/guitar/chorus was required. I only picked band back then because I can't carry a tune and I have small hands, so the guitar teacher gently suggested it wasn't for me the night the 5th graders were invited to the middle school to test out instruments.  I 100% believe I would NOT get in now with my stats. There's nothing special about me academically. The only thing that was special about me back then was my SAT and that's what got me into the Ivy, I believe. My peers, who were tied with me for #1 in the class, did not have the high SAT score I did and did not get into an Ivy. One went to UVA and the other to UC Berkeley. Also, according to my counselor, what helped in my favor was that I was first generation in my family to go to college and I had one parent who didn't even have a HS education. I am white, though, if that matters. He said that college look at someone who was able to excel in all honors and AP classes and get a high SAT with no home support for homework/studying help in a more favorable light. At least that was back in 99/00 when I was applying.
