Yes, it actually is more complex to make homemade sauce. It may not be "harder" in the difficult sense, but you do need to find a recipe that you trust will work well, and, off the top of my head, acquire or ensure that have on hand tomatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, onions, oregano. Then you have to measure out all those ingredients, combine, cook for an hour or so. And THEN you get to the step where OP is with the jarred sauce in the food processor. [/quote]
