What's a good neighborhood to live in for Stokes EE, east or west of river? Criteria - easy school access, good metro access, some walkability/amenities.
We have found East of the River in Marshall Heights (right near the Benning Road metro stop) to be pretty good (been here since 2014, on H St before that), BUT you are going to find the whole area near the school lacks amenities. The commercial corridors have been turned into housing, so while transportation options (and metro access) is good, the walkability is lacking simply because there is not much to walk to yet. You might be better off just living anywhere along the Blue/Silver line if you want to be able to walk to things now and can't wait a few years for retailers to notice the area.
