Same. We went away for 2 weeks and the toilet ran nonstop for 2 weeks. We had a $400 water bill, but no flooding thankfully. We always turn off the water. [/quote]

The amount of water in pipes is pretty negligible compared to free flowing tap. Water heater usually has a drain and is in utility area of house.

Honestly, wish water shutoff could be controlled as easily as thermostat, just good practice with record cold and when traveling[/quote]
