Confine your puppy to areas that he won't get into anything he shouldn't. Have a variety of chew toys, bully sticks, balls, etc. in his confined area.

He could become a great companion for you as he gets older and calmer. I didn't want a dog the first time around either. She was a lab/retriever mix and around 2 years old I really appreciated her company. It's worth the work while they're puppies![/quote]
