What kind of car is it?
A Hyundai Tucson, 2006.
Get rid of it before 100k, that's my advice. Everyone I know with a Hyundai starts having major repairs over 100k miles. I don't think you're being generous enough with what you could get out of selling it independently. I routinely see people selling 10+ year old cars on Facebook and Craigslist with more miles than that for $6-7k. I just saw a Hyundai Tucson in the DMV area that was a 2007 with 87k miles selling for $6200 and had several offers.
