[/quote] Generally if your flight schedule changes by more than 1:30, the airline will give you a lot of flexibility to change to another flight of your choosing without any change fees or increased fare. Using a schedule change to your advantage is a long-time favorite among road warriors. You just need to call and say your flight schedule changed significantly and it doesn't work for you, and tell them what flight you want to get on instead.
