I think she makes a compelling argument about misleading conclusions here: "And this is a problem. What we know about mass shootings suggests that they are different from the everyday deaths that happen at the end of a gun. The weapon is the same. So much else is different. And the distorted image we get by using one as a lens through which to view the other has consequences for our understanding of the problem and the policies that might address it." https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/mass-shootings-are-a-bad-way-to-understand-gun-violence/
That article is a good one. I'm a person deeply upset by this and as i have posted here in the past. Then do something about THESE problems. Provide ANY solution, ANY legislation, ANTYHING. Literally anything. We will happilly try ANYTHING. Let us study the problem, fund the CDC to look at it, fund programs to address the root causes. Everyone thinks the left wants to take away all the guns. WE JUST WANT TO TO SOMETHING [i]ABOUT THIS.
Conservative here who agrees that we need to do something. Even Trump said we need to do something. But, I disagree with your statement about the left not wanting to take away guns. All you need do is read that numerous threads here about the shooting in Florida and see there are plenty of liberals who would love to take away all guns and ammo.
And there are plenty of conservatives that want to take away gay people's right to get married. Do you want to be defined by the most extreme part of your circle or acknowledge the reality that most of us aren't trying to round up all the guns. Or at least that we realize that is not the right course. For example if I could wave wand tomorrow and vanish every gun I would but I also understand that the majority of americans don't want that and that I live in a democracy so even if I were the president I would not try to take away all the guns, despite that being my desire. Getting hung up because a small portion of people would do something you really really don't want is really really stupid.
